Frederick Golf Outing Fun!

WCGA members braved the heat, and participated in the yearly Clustered Spires golf outing on June 22nd in beautiful Frederick, MD.  The day started with a fantastic short game clinic with Scott Peterson, who is the General Manager and Head Golf Professional of Clustered Spires Golf Club. We worked on getting the art of chipping down, and were provided some helpful tips from Scott. All left the clinic feeling more confident in their short game and ready to apply new techniques on the course.

Post the clinic, the group hydrated and grabbed our golf carts to play either 9 or 18 holes.

Clustered Spires Golf Club is set along the Monocacy River, which surrounds the golf course on 3 sides, creating a beautiful setting. There were 3 groups total from WCGA that hit the course. Despite the hot temps, the course was full. There was a tournament earlier in the day, so many were out playing.

We finished 9 holes and two of the group went on to play 18 holes.  For those that did the 9 holes, the group grabbed a bite to eat at Madrones, which is an American Bar & Grill featuring hand-cut steaks, award winning seafood dishes and house-made burgers. All enjoyed catching up and talking about future outings and events, including WCGA's planned trip to Africa next year!

WCGA plans to hold this Frederick outing again in 2025.  Feel free to contact WCGA past president and board member, Dana Ritchie, at danahalvorson@gmail.com with any questions on this fun event.
